PHILOSOPHY OF LEARNING


Assumption School believes that each person's abilities and talents are God given and we have a responsibility to appreciate and develop these gifts. We are therefore dedicated to providing a challenging academic program which is rooted in self-motivation as the means to success. We place emphasis on values and encourage integrity, leadership, and spiritual growth. We feel that students respond to encouragement and respect. Our teaching is therefore based on respect for each child's pace and style of learning. We encourage and praise the stages of progress which allow the student to experience success and approval. We work to create an atmosphere of justice, consistency, and civility. In summary, we strive "To teach as Jesus did".
